The tunes continue...

i wonder where they make these tunes - I have a few theories: 1) They are made in a prison or a prison camp like guantanamo - by psychos who probably enjoy making them 2) They are unwittingly made my various people who buy sample cd's to add 'effects' to their tracks. They actually don't notice that the person screaming in the sample is actually a real sample of someone who is relaly being tortured. 3) The samples are added onto tracks made by a normal person - then the sample is added by weirdo record company people Any of these could be true. i continue to hear these tracks / samples - on the radio - in shopping malls being played to everyone present. but the worst - I hve to say the WORST was at a recent 'party' i went to..... Basically for about 5 hours the dj played tunes which were basically noise with beats going up to 180bpm with continous sounds of screaming and pain... i am not joking... It was like being in a living nightmare.. Why do people play these tracks? I can only guess. Let's pray for these people. I am.

  2. Unfortunately I can't link you up to any of the tracks I'm thinking of because they're not officially released anywhere but I used to live with some guys that made IDM style stuff, very high BPMs up to 180-200 'gabber' style beats. Interspersed with very lovely mellow melodic interludes. There is some pretty gnarly gutteral screaming in there that if you were to hear it, you'd probably think was someone having their toenails pulled out or whatever, but the truth of the matter was, we all took it in turns to make horrendous screeching noises into the mic, complete with all the natural distortion that added. Basically a load of us guys and girls were sitting around in the basement, having a few drinks and took it in turns to make the most blood curdling noise imaginable. The aim was to create tracks that both soothed and shocked in equal measure. No sinister agenda, just making extreme music for the fun of it. My friend self-released a few CDs, doing all the artwork etc. Maybe played it out live two or three times. And then got bored with making electronic music and moved on to making websites.

Whilst I'm not saying there's no validity in what you're saying (I've been to a few parties myself and thought there's a lot of occult stuff here, not even particularly well-hidden, I'm researching it myself hence finding this blog), some stuff that does sound like horrendous torture may well be a load of drunk art students messing around in a basement trying to outdo each other with the most authentic 'horror scream' with a healthy dose of irony.

As to 'why' people would want to inflict this kind of stuff on others, there's many reasons, one would be the contrasting of light and dark moods as already mentioned, or as another commenter suggested on your other post regarding darkpsy, it's one element of a longer trip which evolves towards the morning and sunrise where the tonal palate changes with the approaching light and creates a beautiful whole rather than focussing on purely on the negative. But also, much like horror movies provide a sense of fascination and enjoyment from pushing visceral boundries, people continue to make stuff like that because others respond to it, pay them money and encourage them. And I'm talking end-level consumers themselves, not necessarily shady record company guys with boundless money.

You are listening to these mind-altering tunes completely on your own responsibility. If you experience hallucinations or satanic thoughts that become too strong you should call a doctor and just put your phone next to your soundsystem while playing these tunes at the highest possible volume. The doctor will understand and send some highly trained psychonautic rescue dogs that will eat the hallucinations and bad thoughts right out of your brain, just hold still.
